Wedding Photographer in Belfast, Northern Ireland
The place I call “home”
Ok, I actually live just north of Belfast in County Antrim, but when it comes to business, weddings in Belfast are my specialty. I’ve photographed at almost every wedding venue in Belfast, and if you’re wondering where to take engagement photos in the area, not only can I give you a list of ideas, I can also show you examples! In addition to winning Best Wedding Photographer (Co Antrim) in 2017, I was also named as one of the top wedding photographers in Belfast. You can check this out here.
Belfast is an amazing city for weddings, whether you are looking for a quirky intimate wedding or a traditional wedding in a castle, there is something in Belfast for you.
Within the city itself, there are several beautiful and popular places for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Belfast is known for the Titanic Quarter (you’ll see images from the Harland & Wolff dockyards on my website) and it is a perfect place for engagement photos or portraits on the wedding day. There’s also the Cathedral Quarter, with its cobblestone streets and quirky photo opportunities…everyone loves those red benches at the Duke of York pub! I also love Belfast Castle, Botanic Gardens, and many other estates, hotels, and churches. There is just so much to choose from!
One of the great things about getting married in Belfast is that if it does rain, there are lots of photo opportunities and places where you can avoid it. Like the rest of Northern Ireland, Belfast gets its fair share of rain. Whilst the ‘seasons’ offer a guide to our weather, unfortunately we cant predict or guarantee that your day will be sunny and dry…indeed I have shot many wet summer weddings in the city…However, I’ve worked in every kind of weather, and I can always come up with a creative way to make sure to capture perfect portraits for my couples.
Destination weddings in Belfast are convenient because it is easy to travel here and your guests will fall in love with the city. Even if you don’t have family traveling in, Belfast would be a great location for a destination elopement as well! Whether you are having a religious or civil ceremony, don’t forget to give notice at city hall!
