Bellingham Castle Wedding

Wow…one small word to describe Anne Marie and Michaels amazing Bellingham Castle wedding!

When I first met AnneMarie and her mum, we just clicked, and I was thrilled to be invited to photograph the wedding. And what a wedding it was.

As a wedding photographer, based in Northern Ireland, its lovely to nip across the boarder every now and then. As it happens, I had passed this venue a million times, but didn’t know what lay behind the gates. Bellingham Castle in the village of Castlebellingham, is one of the finest Irish Castles that specialise in Weddings. Its on the old Dublin Road…you know the one that used to take you 3 hours to get to Dublin from Belfast, and you hoped that you didn’t end up behind a tractor! (Thank goodness for the M1) The venue is exclusively yours for the day, even the kitchen …where you can help yourself to a much needed cup of tea in beautiful vintage cups and saucers.

As a venue it is a photographers dream, with lots of options for both indoor and outdoor photography….However the sun came out for Anne Marie and Michael and we got to use the extensive outdoor space for some great portraits.

You could see the fun and the atmosphere building throughout the day. From getting ready, through to the service and on to the Castle, everyone just oozed happiness, fun and laughter. After a beautiful meal, Camouflage(AKA the singing Chef & Waiters) made one of their hilarious performances, warming up the guests and ensuring the party moved up a gear before the music and dancing.
