Rocky Mountain Cottage is one of those venues that catches your breath. Located in the heart of the Mourne mountains, this exquisite and secluded wedding venue is perfect for couples who want something a little bit different.
This family owned venue excels itself with excellent customer care – there is nothing that is too much trouble. Indeed, you can even have a reindeer at your wedding should you wish! (did I mention that at Christmas time it’s also known as Santa’s cottage)
Underground Cottage
The underground ceremony room is incredible. A building with a grass roof and an old stone wall opens up into a beautiful room, just perfect for intimate weddings. Alternatively, you can also have an outdoor wedding, with the wonderful backdrop of the Mourne Mountains – what more could a couple ask for!

Surrounded by mountains and forests, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this idyllic venue is exclusively yours on your wedding day. Located between Hilltown and the beautiful village of Rostrover, Rocky Mountain Cottage will not disappoint!

The perfect Photo location
Rocky Mountain Cottage is a gem of a wedding venue when it comes to wedding photos. You have the beautiful Mourne Mountains as a backdrop, in addition to the manicured gardens, a wishing well and not forgetting the quaint white washed cottage and stone walled underground cottage. As a wedding photographer I was blown away – the photo opportunities were endless.
From the moment they saw it, Catherine and Ian fell in love with Rocky Mountain Cottage. It was the perfect wedding venue for them – and their dog Rocky!
Their wedding was initially planned for 2020, but like many 2020 plans, it was put on hold due to the worldwide pandemic. There was no holding back in 2021 and even with reduced numbers they had an absolutely amazing day with their nearest and dearest.
