Una and Jonathans Wedding
Una and Jonathan had an incredible wedding, just beside Murlough Bay. After a beautiful service in the local chapel, they headed to Murlough Bay for photos, before going to The Wool Tower, where they celebrated in style with their family and friends.
The Glens of Antrim is my most favourite part of this wee country (but I have to keep that quiet from my mums’ side of the family who all hail from Co Down).
When I was first contacted by Una and Jonathan to shoot their wedding, I literally squealed with delighted when I heard that Una hailed from just outside of Ballycastle.
What was even more exciting, is that she wanted photos on her family’s land; which only turned out to be Murlough Bay!
Yip her extended family owns this incredible part of Northern Irelands amazing coastline and they generously share it with the world to enjoy.
Where is Murlough Bay
Located on the northeast coast of Northern Ireland, Murlough Bay is situated between Ballycastle and Torr Head.
By car it takes around 20 minutes from Ballycastle, or about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Belfast
Accommodation near Murlough Bay
Murlough Bay is a beautiful coastal location. In the surrounding area there are some bed and breakfasts, or cottages to let. Booking.com can be your best friend to find one that suits.
The closest town is Ballycastle, with hotel accommodation, restaurants and bars, and an incredible beach.
You can even catch a ferry to the wonderful Rathlin Island, if you fancy visiting the puffins (although check you are visiting in Puffin season before you travel)
Wedding Photography at Murlough Bay, Co Antrim
Murlough Bay in County Antrim is AMAZING…did you hear me…I said AMAZING.
I’m still in awe that this is Una’s extended family land; imagine having this as your playground as a child.
It is just the most unbelievable place with views to die for.
From the rugged cliffs of Fair Head, to the sandy cove of the bay and beyond to Torr Head; every inch of this land is beautiful. So beautiful that HBO used in Game of Thrones
Being able to use this place for your wedding photos is a dream!
Una and Jonathans Wedding Photos
When I arrived at Una’s parents house on the morning of the wedding, I knew it was going to be a great day. Everyone was so relaxed, and enjoying the hustle and bustle of getting ready.
With the chapel only up the road, it wasn’t long before the ‘I do’s’ had been said, and we were on route, via Murlough Bay to The Wool Tower in Broughshane.
