My Top 20 Wedding Venues in Northern Ireland
Over the years, I have photographed wedding’s in many venues throughout Northern Ireland. We are lucky to have castles, barns, private estates, country houses and some amazing hotels right on our doorstep.. Couples are always interested in hearing about my experiences of venue’s, and often ask me while they are still looking for their own,, This list of 20, are wedding venues I have loved shooting weddings at. Oh and ok,, theres a few on the list which are not strictly Northern Ireland Venues, but whats a couple of miles across the border between friends..
Just to add, here are many many other amazing venues in Northern Ireland, this is just my personal list. 🙂
Ballygally Castle Hotel
Built in 1625,, this venue is steeped in history. Rumour has it there is even a friendly ghost. Thankfully I have never met the Lady Isabella, but I have shot many fabulous weddings here, utilising the beautiful gardens and the beach which is right across the road. At Ballygally Castle, you are guaranteed to have an amazing wedding.
Ballymagarvey Village is a fabulous venue just a few miles across the border. Steeped in history, this 800 year old venue is the stuff of fairytales.
A historic venue, with fabulous wedding photography opportunities in the walled garden and wider estate. At Ballyscullion Park you can have your civil ceremony and reception all on the one site, in their amazing grounds, the garden marquee, and the beautiful Georgian coach-house..
Belle Isle Castle
On a private island in the Fermanagh lakeland’s, Belle Isle Castle is an exquisite venue, with enchanting gardens. This venue oozes romance, and will wow on your wedding day. Its also amazing for wedding photography
Bellingham Castle is literally 10 minutes across the border. As such I’ve included it in my top 20 wedding venues Northern Ireland. It’s an exclusive venue, which oozes luxury. This 17th century Castle has charm and splendour, to make your wedding spectacular!
Breckenhill boasts a beautifully restored stone Barn and a rustic agricultural barn, set in the most amazing grounds. Its perfect for holding both your ceremony and reception all in the one place It is also epic for wedding photography.. David & Henrietta who own and run Breckenhill are also 2 of the most down to earth, hardworking people,, always ensuring things run smoothly for guests and suppliers alike. For this reason I think Breckenhill will always be in my top 20 wedding venues in Northern Ireland.
Clandeboye Estate is a magical place. On your wedding day it will be exclusively yours, personalised to your individual taste to create amazing memories.. Only 15 minutes from Belfast, the venue is great for photography, with some amazing locations throughout the estate.
Clandeboye Lodge Hotel
Just 15 minuted from Belfast, this venue has so many options for weddings. Get married in beautiful and elegant surroundings, with the most amazing landscaped gardens which are perfect for wedding photography.
Corrick House Hotel & Spa
Corrick House Hotel and Spa is a 17th century house transformed into the most amazing and personable venue in Co Tyrone. It is exquisite inside and out, with a walled garden amazing for wedding photography
Galgorm Resort and Spa
Famous for luxury, Galgorm Resort is one of Northern Irelands most glamorous wedding venues. With a variety of wedding suites to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice. Glenarm Castle River Lodge
Nestled in the magnificent grounds of Glenarm Castle, the River-lodge is an exclusive venue, accessed via a private train in the estate, The setting is stunning, and you also have use of the walled garden for photography. This is a great choice if you want to personalise a marquee wedding.
Kilmore Country House
Situated in Glenariffe, the Queen of the Glens, Kilmore Country House is perfect for any couple who want to wow their guests. The views alone from this venue are breathtaking. Following your ceremony ( where theres a choice of 2 outdoor locations), you can enjoy either the marquee or the main house to hold your reception, Exclusively yours for the day, you can guarantee it will be fantastic. Larchfield Estate is 600 acres of beautiful countryside, with a 19th century barn, a fabulous orangey, and idyllic gardens. Like many other venues, you can have your entire day here, and also make use of the fantastic onsite accommodation. I just love getting into the greenhouse, or out to the lake for the wedding photos.
Lissanoure Castle is a breathtaking wedding venue in County Antrim. It has a beautiful courtyard and comes complete with its own clock tower. Aside from the Castle itself, it has a quirky barn, that just rocks weddings. It’s a great venue to hold both your ceremony and your reception. As a Belfast wedding photographer, I just love its grounds as the photo opportunities are unlimited.
Lusty Beg Island Resort
A beautiful Island Resort, Lusty Beg is a great choice for your wedding. Hop on the ferry, and arrive to the peace and tranquility of Fermanagh. It’s so relaxed, you will feel as if it has its own time zone.

The Carriage Rooms at Montalto
A 19th century mill transformed into The Carriage Rooms – this venue oozes elegance,. An exclusive venue, with access to the grounds of the wider Montalto Estate, It should be high on the list for any couple wanting to have luxury, coupled with the feeling of home.
The Old Inn Crawfordsburn
Established in 1614, The Old Inn Crawfordsburn is steeped in history. Just 10 minute’s from Belfast, this charming venue ensures that your wedding day runs like clockwork. Its own grounds are great for photography, but its also only 5 minutes from Crawfordsburn County Park which is loved by Northern Ireland wedding photographers
Did you know you can hold your wedding in the Ulster Museum? It’s a fab place for weddings, and the atrium converts to the most amazing reception area. Its also within the grounds of Botanic Gardens, so photo opportunities are unlimited. If you haven’t already done so, you should check it out!
