Glenarm Castle Wedding Photography
Glenarm Castle Estate
Glenarm Castle Estate is one of the finest estates in County Antrim. Nestled in the village of Glenarm, it plays host to numerous weddings each year, both within the Castle itself and also in the River Lodge. It is a wedding photographer’s dream as the backdrops are amazing!
Glenarm Castle
The Castle is an exquisite, grand and romantic venue, making it perfect for elegant and intimate weddings. It is a stunning backdrop for all brides and grooms and will add the wow factor to any wedding.
Glenarm Castle River Lodge
The Glenarm Castle River Lodge is a fabulous venue in the heart of the Glenarm Estate. To access the River Lodge, guests are treated to the most amazing journey on the Estate Train, driving through fields of cattle and sheep, as well as spotting hundreds of pheasants along the way. On my 1st visit, I was blown away by the number of pheasants…there are literally thousands that skuttle out of the way of the Train or your car.
Glenarm Castle River Lodge is a marquee venue, with converted outbuildings and a courtyard feel. It’s the perfect spot for an outdoor private and secluded wedding
Wedding Photography Locations in Glenarm
As I said above, Glenarm Castle is a wedding photographer’s dream. As a Northern Ireland wedding photographer I just love shooting weddings here. There are so many opportunities and so many locations throughout the estate, all providing exceptional and stunning backdrops. There are 4 main locations within the estate where you can have your wedding photos taken. However, in between these areas, it is possible to stop and grab a shot, as every turn in the road opens up another stunning opportunity.
- The Barbican
The Barbican is a miniature basalt castle at the end of a beautiful old stone bridge. Lots of my wedding couples have had photos taken here and it makes for a great backdrop to your wedding photos. You can also book to stay in The Barbican on your wedding night…a castle all to yourselves!
- The Walled Garden
Glenarm Castle Walled Garden is one of the oldest walled gardens in Ireland and they are exceptional. There are lots of nooks and crannies, beautiful flowers and secret walkways. I love using the walled garden for wedding photographs.
- Glenarm Castle
For an added touch of opulence to your wedding photographs, Glenarm Castle provides a spectacular backdrop.
- Glenarm Estate
Glenarm Estate is a wedding photographer’s dream. The vast expanse in some areas of the estate make for dramatic wedding portraits. This combined with the forest areas create opportunities to make your wedding photos truly unique.
Jennifer and Andrews River Lodge Wedding
Jennifer and Andrew chose Glenarm Castle River Lodge as their wedding venue. Following an intimate service in Jen’s family church in Larne, the wedding party traveled along the famous Antrim Coast Road to the Glenarm Estate.
On route, Jen and Andrew opted for some photographs at Ballygally and then to the fabulous walled gardens for some more portraits. After some craic on the Estate Train, the wedding party pulled up to the Glenarm River Lodge and the party went into full swing.
They were blessed with a beautiful wedding day, with the sun out and shining brightly. Guests played garden games in the courtyard, whilst the bride and groom mingled with friends and family. Following a great meal and fantastic speeches, the unmistakable tune of an ice cream van rang out in a tribute to Jen’s late grandfather.
It was a fabulous day, full of fun and frolics…thanks Jennifer and Andrew for inviting me along.
